Cookies and storage

Last updated: 23 October 2026

No cookies, just the storage your games need.

The short version

Etheria uses no cookies today. We use only browser storage that the games need to work, and it stays on your device. That's why you won't see a cookie banner.

What browser storage is

Your browser can keep small pieces of data for a website, on your device. Etheria uses two kinds:

We don't read this data from a server, and we don't use it to track you. It's strictly necessary to give you the game you asked for, so the law doesn't require us to ask first.

Everything we store

NameTypeWhat it's for
etheria-profilelocalStorageYour progress across Etheria: XP, Shards and streak.
etheria-mutelocalStorageWhether sound is on or off.
etheria-quicklocalStorageQuick Play: the games you played recently, so we can show them under Keep playing.
etheria-world-urllocalStorageThe way back to the World from inside a game.
etheria-arrivesessionStorageSmooth page transitions. Cleared when you close the tab.
etheria-returnsessionStorageSmooth page transitions. Cleared when you close the tab.
Each game's own keys, for example mc-music and the city saveslocalStorageThat game's saves and settings, such as your Metropolis 3000 cities and its music setting.

How to clear it

Open your browser's settings and clear site data (sometimes called cookies and site data) for etheria.games. This deletes your progress, Shards and settings on that device and can't be undone, because we don't keep a copy.

Other services

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts for now, and Quick Play games and images from cdn.etheria.games (Amazon CloudFront). These requests share basic technical data, as explained in our privacy policy. Our analytics set no cookies.

If this changes

If we ever add cookies or storage that isn't strictly necessary, for example for ads or third-party analytics, we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it, and update this page.
